The TV market in India is getting crowded and super competitive with many big brands entering this market like Oneplus, Xiaomi, Thomson, VU and Kodak.
Most of these companies are new and only been there for 5 to 10 year but we all know Kodak was a big brand in the early 90s mostly famous for there cameras.
Now they have entered the TV market I am not sure that if you know this but they are killing it and all thanks to there affordable pricing.

Top 2 Kodak TV Reviews
1) Kodak 124 cm (50 Inches) 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV 50UHDXSMART
If you are thinking of buying a smart tv of 50 inches then the this Kodak 124 cm (50 Inches) 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV 50UHDXSMART is worth checking.
So lets start with the design of this TV.
The Kodak 124 cm (50 Inches) 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV isn’t slim like the mi TV to be clear I’m okay if a budget TV isn’t slim when you are on a tight budget compromising on the sliminess is okay.
You can wall mount the TV or put it on a table the choice is yours.
I use the included two stands to set up the TV, the table stand is made of metal which is sturdy and holds the TV in place very well.
The table stand is high enough to house a gaming console under it without interfering with the panel of the TV.
You can easily house a 2.5 inch sound barunder the TV as well.
If you plan to place something taller than three inches then you may want to consider their placement in a cabinet beneath the TV because of the space you have there.
Similare to every kodak tv you will find buttons on the right hand side of the tv.
When it comes to connectivity the kodak 50-inch TV has:
- 3 HDMI ports
- 2 USB ports
- Ethernet port
- SD cards port
- 1 component which is the RGB cable
- Cable connection port
- Audio and video ports.
- 3.5 mm audio jack
So over all three HDMI ports is good for connectivity options it has enough audio out as well however the only problem is that they’re rare two HDMI ports are quite close to each other so if you have a first-generation chromecast or a fire TV stick you may want to think about getting an extender if you want to attach two devices there together.
Now the kodak 50-inch TV display panel has been made by Samsung.
It has a 4k resolution which is (3840 x 2160) and it does support HDR.
The TV has a bunch of built-in services like Netflix, Hotstar, Youtube and more it has hotkeys on the remote control for this as well pressing the hotkeys launches the app in a heartbeat.
Also, the picture quality of this TV is great when it comes to watching movies on Netflix or on Amazon Prime
Now I watched HD content on the TV and it’s streamed well the visual fidelity was good nothing that’ll hamper the viewing experience.
The viewing angle on this TV is als great.
The panel on the TV is reflective but nothing that’s too bad the viewing angles are generous but from extreme angles you will notice a colors hift overall considering the price the content viewing experience on the TV is good.
Now the kodak TV has two down-firing 20-watt speakers to put things into perspective the speakers sound better than mi TV 4 but they are ok for every day to use such as watching the news or some programming on your TV but won’t do justice for gaming or movies.
I recommend investing in a home theater having said that the speakers are loud enough for the average sized living room watching tv shows or news shouldn’t be a problem on the speakers of this TV.
Now the remote control itself is detailed giving you access to all settings including the ability to take a screenshot from the comfort of the remote control.
Speaking of the build and design of the remote control its plastic feels cheap the buttons are rubbery and clicky.
This TV runs on android 5.1.1 and you can download any games and apps from Google Play Store
This TV comes with 8GB storage and 1GB RAM.
2) Kodak 140 cm (55 inches) 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV 55UHDXSMART
If you are thinking of buying a 55 inches smart tv then this Kodak 140 cm (55 Inches) 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV 55UHDXSMART is worth checking.
Build & Design
Traditionally we’ve seen that budget TVs have compromised on the build and design of keeping TVs a little thicker.
Of course we know about that Xiaomi really slim TV but that’s again at 50 to 55 thousand rupees it’s nowhere close to thirty thousand rupee price point.
But here the TV is thick it’s traditional it’s fine it’s what you would expect from a TV at this price point however there are a few good things and a bad thing.
The feet of the TV especially if you are going to tabletop this TV is really nice they’re strong they have this carbon black colour they feel like metal they feel really sturdy and they hold the TV high enough that you can actually place a soundbar or a gaming console your set-top box and any other things.
So that’s a really good thing a lot of TVs I have seen or give you a little less height which makes you putting it in front of your entertainment center a problem but this TV gives you a good amount of height that’s nice.
Having said that the build quality does feel cheap at certain places.
Speaking of the connectivity options this is another area where I am pretty happy with the TV it’s got:
- 3 HDMI port
- 2 USB ports
- 2 AV inputs
- Ethernet port
- 3.5 mm audio jack
So when it comes to connectivity options as well this TV comes with a lot of options.
Now when it comes to the performance this is where the TV actually takes a big hit now.
You have the ability to not only control hdmi 2.0 functionality which is needed for 4k HDR content you can manually switch it back to hdmi 1.4 as well which will give you full HD content if you have a external source like a fire TV stick 4k or an Xbox one X
However you also have the ability to control the HDR ability so if you are let’s say in HDMI 2.0 settings you can also go back and switch HDR on and off.
If you’re going to watch content from your Tata Sky set-top box you should be fine i didn’t face any problems most of the content is either standard definition (SD) high-definition or full HD and all of that content quality of content should be fine for you.
Coming to the Operating system it’s running on Android (5.1.1) and just like the 50-inch version of this tv it has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage.
The operating system looks nice and it is easy to operate.
This TV comes with DTS sound system and 20 watts speakers which will be ok for you if you want to place the TV in the hall or your room.
But in order to get the full audio experiens you may need to buy an audio system.
